This is an Antique 1920s – 1930s original rhodium finish filigree bangle bracelet. Genuine Art Deco piece in a highly sought after rhodium (platinum family) finish. Hand cut filigree work with applied solid gold leaves and flowers to the front and a claw set multi faceted oval lavender stone to the front. (untested and sold as is).
The last photo which is a prop and does not form part of the sale shows similar bangles by NuWite by Ripley and Gowan from the 1930s. Note they list the stones as gems. Bangle is Filigree Design Silver Metal with Rhodium Coating. The filigree work is like spun sugar simply gorgeous.
Silver and White metals were all the rage at this time in history as was filigree. Jewellery makers used a Rhodium overlay to keep the pieces shiney and bright (Pure Rhodium is too brittle to use in jewellery) Rhodium is the most expensive metal in the world even out ranking Platinum and Palladium. Base metals were sterling, white gold, platinum or other white metals. It is impossible to tell without having an expert drill into the bracelet.
