Antique Rhodium Filigree Amethyst Colour Stone Bicone Crystal Necklace Pendant
A real stunner from the 1930s.
Rhodium coated filigree pendant and chain with centre amethyst colour paste stone.
The bar type chain has been adorned with bicone crystals
The necklace is in very good antique condition.
The pendant’s stone is surrounded by filigree work with applied filigree bail. The stone is 3.5cms long and the pendant is 4.5cms long.
The chain is 40.5cms or 16 inches long. weighs 14.6gms. Very collectible and wearable necklace. Nearly 100 years old and certainly its high quality has lasted the test of time.
White metals were all the rage at this time in history as was filigree. Jewellery makers used a Rhodium overlay to keep the pieces shiny and bright and is used today to coat white gold and sterling to keep it bright. (Pure Rhodium is too brittle to use in jewellery) Rhodium is the most expensive metal in the world even out ranking Platinum and Palladium.
