Vintage Antique Filigree Rhodium Pink Stone Necklace.
1920s Art Deco Flapper Necklace
White metals were all the rage at this time as was filigree. Jewellery makers used a Rhodium overlay to keep the pieces shiney and bright (Pure Rhodium is too brittle to use in jewellery) Rhodium is the most epensive metal in the world even outranking Platinum and Palladium. I cant find any markings on the pendant or chain so do not know what the base metal is although probably sterling as was the norm but it is untested otherwise it would require being damaged.
The pendant has a multi faceted untested stone in the centre with a wirework surround and filigreee work atop. This is attached to a double link chain that has pink and clear multifaceted bicone crystals attached. The chain is 43cms or just under 17 inches long and has an antique c clasp that works as it should. The centre stone of the pendant is 3cms by 2.2cms at its widest and the entire pendant is 4.5cms by 2.9cms. Little bicone crystals are 2mm and 3mm across.
Quite a large antique statement piece.
The total weight is 15.9gms. One of a kind Art Deco necklace in very good condition.
